VCA courses in English

Akademia VCA runs VCA courses in English for people working in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg. Classes are also taught in other languages — with native speakers or supported by our in-house simultaneous translation system. That is how we serve multilingual teams and international groups.

Basic VCA

A course for all frontline workers exposed to increased risk. If you use tools, machinery or chemicals at work, or work in a higher-risk environment (e.g. cold store, steelworks, industrial plant) — this course is for you. Basic VCA is required in construction, urban greenery and many other sectors.

Course duration: 8 hours

Certificate validity: 10 years

Exam format: computer-based test taken in the presence of an examiner

Exam languages to choose from: Polish, English, Dutch, French, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, German, Spanish, Turkish and more

Number of questions: 40

Exam duration: 60 minutes

VOL VCA

two-day classroom course with exam

€ 410 (incl. VAT)

A course for line managers, people working independently without supervision (e.g. ZZP) and employees whose employer requires VOL VCA. It covers the full Basic VCA material plus responsibility, work organisation and personnel management under the Dutch Working Conditions Act and related legislation.

Course duration: 14 hours

Certificate validity: 10 years

Exam format: computer-based test taken in the presence of an examiner

Exam languages to choose from: Dutch, German, English, French (knowledge of the exam language at B2 level is required)

Number of questions: 60

Exam duration: 60 minutes

VIL VCU

two-day classroom course with exam

€ 410 (incl. VAT)

A course for those who post workers and supervise work performed at another company — especially in cooperation with tememployment agencies. It covers the VOL VCA material plus the specifics of the worker–agency–employer triangle, the Working Hours Act and CAO collective agreements.

Course duration: 16 hours

Certificate validity: 10 years

Exam format: computer-based test taken in the presence of an examiner

Exam languages to choose from: Dutch, English (knowledge of the exam language at B2 level is required)

Number of questions: 60

Exam duration: 60 minutes

At our training centres you take the exam on a tablet. No computer experience? No problem — you operate the tablet with your finger, exactly like your touchscreen phone.

You can also listen to each exam question. This is especially helpful for people with weaker eyesight and for those taking the exam in a foreign language.
