Attention! High temperatures!

Employer: Caution, high temperatures!

High temperatures pose a multifaceted risk in the workplace, including the possibility of stroke, sunburn, and dehydration, as well as many other dangerous health consequences.

🔹Your task is to adjust working conditions to the prevailing risks. What should you do?

🔹Equip employees with appropriate protective clothing. It must be lightweight but cover as much of the body as possible.

🔹 Provide workers with head protection in the form of hats or helmets with neck protection.

🔹 If conditions do not allow for long-sleeved and long-legged clothing, provide employees with access to sunscreen with a minimum SPF of 30.

🔹 Provide more frequent breaks and access to water and beverages for workers. Provide a shaded area where they can rest.

🔹 Try to schedule the most physically demanding jobs so they do not take place between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., when the heat and sunlight are at their highest.

🔹 Make sure your employees understand the dangers posed by heat and sunlight, how to protect themselves from them, how to recognize the symptoms of dehydration, stroke, and sunburn, and how to act when these occur.

➡️ Conduct a TOOLBOX MEETING on working in high temperatures.

🔹 Indoors, take care to lower the temperature with air conditioning or fans, or by creating free airflow.

⚠️Never ignore weather conditions — plan, act, and prevent!
