Employer

By employer we mean anyone who orders work to be performed. By “anyone” we mean a company or private person who orders any task to be performed. From the point of view of the Occupational Health and Safety Act, it does not matter whether the employee works on a contract or through a temporary employment agency, whether he is an intern, volunteer, colleague, neighbor or brother-in-law of the person ordering the work. Whether he is Dutch or an emigrant or what color his skin is. If work has been ordered and accepted for performance, a legal relationship has been established between the employer and the employee.
